In an effort to reduce this disparity, on 26 March 2025 the Dutch implementation of the pay transparency directive was put out to online consultation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Swiss Federal Supreme Court has ruled that an employee may be dismissed with immediate effect if they fail to properly inform the employer in due time about their absence from work due to illness. While this obligation has long existed under Swiss law, many employees have been unaware of it and employers often hesitated to enforce the legal consequences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Labour Court of Appeal in Brussels granted an employee two compensations for a \u201cmanifestly unreasonable\u201d dismissal \u2013 one for the dismissal itself and another for the early termination of the notice period, which was replaced by a severance payment. This is the first known case in Belgium where dual compensation has been granted under Collective Bargaining Agreement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of L&amp;E Global, we invite you to read
